Ingredients
- 2 medium onions, diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 celery stalks, sliced
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 (16-ounce) package egg noodles
- 1 package pho broth soup base
- any additional vegetables (optional)
Instructions
- Over medium heat, sauté onion, garlic, and celery in olive oil until halfway tender, about 2 minutes.
- Add ground beef, and cook, stirring occasionally, until halfway done, about 5 minutes.
- Add remaining items except egg noodles along with with 20 cups of water. If using a smaller pot, add enough water to just below the brim. You can adjust the water to make the pho broth stronger or lighter.
- Turn heat to high until boiling, then simmer, covered, for about 45 minutes.
- Remove spice bag. Boil for 15 minutes longer.
