  • Fresh, crisp apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

How to Make Caramel Apple Sticks

  1. Wash the apples in the sink and Dry them well with a towel.
  2. Push popsicle sticks into the middle of the apples. This makes a handle for dipping.
  3. Get a big pot and turn on the stove to medium heat.
  4. Put sugar in the pot and stir with a wooden spoon. Keep stirring until it’s a golden-brown liquid. This might take 5-7 minutes, so be patient.
  5. Carefully drop pieces of butter into the sugary liquid. Keep stirring, but watch out, it might bubble!
  6. Slowly pour in some heavy cream while you stir.
  7. Sprinkle in a tiny bit of salt and a little vanilla extract. Keep stirring until everything’s mixed and smooth.
  8. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes. It will get a bit thicker.
  9. Grab the apple by the stick.
  10. Dunk the apple into the melted caramel. Twist it to coat it all.
  11. Hold it over the bowl and let extra caramel drip off.
  12. Let it sit until the caramel gets hard.
  13. Add some crushed peanuts on top of each apple. They taste really good, and you’ll love the flavor a lot. I did it because I love crushed peanuts on my dessert, but you can add some M&M’s or any topping you want.

  • I put my apples in the fridge before dipping. Cold apples make the caramel extra crunchy!
  • Use pretzel sticks instead of popsicle sticks for a tasty twist!
  • If you’re using store-bought caramel, let it sit for a bit at room temperature.
  • Roll your caramel apples in crushed peanuts, coconut, or tiny chocolate chips for extra fun!
