1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter (cut into pieces or shredded)
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking Powder
1 egg (beaten)
Filling Ingredients
2 cups blackberries
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup granulated white sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a small baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
In a large bowl, stir the flour, 1/2 cup granulated white sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter and stir until the dough is in pea-sized pieces.
Add the egg and stir until combined. Press half of the dough mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine the blackberries, lemon juice, cornstarch, and sugar. Stir until combined.
Pour the berry mixture over the crust in the pan. Sprinkle the other half of the dough mixture over the top. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely. Serve as is or over vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
